After debuting at this year’s Detroit Auto Show, the all-new 2019 Silverado is bigger than its predecessor in just about every way imaginable. Take the Crew Cab, for example, with the short box. It rides on a wheelbase that is 3.9 inches longer than the previous model, and it’s 1.7″ longer, 1.2″ wider, and 1.5″ taller. Even with a short bed, it has more cargo space than a standard-bed Ford F-150.

Chevy has spent the last 100 years working hard to earn a reputation for making the most dependable, longest-lasting full-size pickups on the road. The 2019 Silverado features a ground-up redesign that results in a longer and lighter pickup. The new Silverado is shedding some pounds, around 450 pounds, which should pay dividends for fuel economy and acceleration.

The Power Of Choice

Since there’s no one tool that’s right for every job, the all-new Silverado will offer six engine options. One of which is the first four-cylinder engine in the history of a Silverado pickup. A 310 horsepower, 2.7-liter turbocharged engine that provides 348 lb.-ft. of torque. This new engine will be standard on LT and RST versions and is 80 pounds lighter and more fuel efficient than the 4.3-liter V-6 it will replace in some Silverado models.

New this year, Chevrolet will also be offering Dynamic Fuel Management standard on the all-new 5.3L V8 and 6.2L V8 engines. Dynamic Fuel Management uses an industry-first 17 cylinder-modes to optimize efficiency and power.

Eight Trim Levels

When the new Silverado goes on sale, it will be offered in a total of eight trim levels. Chevrolet is giving the power of choice to their customers, whether they choose the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, or top of the line High Country trim.

The 2019 LT Trailboss is a new trim for 2019, and adds off-road equipment to the LT, including a 2-inch suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package, which includes locking rear differential, skid plates, Rancho shocks, 18-inch wheels and Goodyear Duratrac off-road tires. High-Strength Bed

Built from high-strength, roll-formed steel to offer the legendary durability you would expect. The 2019 Silverado features the all-new Durabed – the most functional bed of any pickup. Features include:

  • Best-in-class cargo box volume
  • Available 120v outlet and LED Rear Task Lighting
  • 12 Fixed Tie Downs – rated up to 500 lbs.
  • A CornerStep bumper with larger footwells

As you can see, there have been a lot of changes in the all-new and re-designed 2019 Silverado. The next-generation will start later this fall when the 2019 Silverado goes on sale.
